Country Club Real Estate is Rooted in a Luxurious Past

Denver, in its heyday, was full of luxury and leisure as families made their money off of the ever expanding railroad that was cutting across the country from the East to West. Some of these neighborhoods have managed to maintain their prestige and upstanding name and the Country Club neighborhood in Denver is one of them.

Country Club real estate began its larger than life origins in the early 1900s with the creation of an exclusive area known as the Park Club Place. This section of the city had its borders between East 1st and 4th and Humboldt and High streets. Country Club buyers and sellers flocked to the area which is just southeast of downtown.

Eventually the beloved Country Club (which still stands today and is the oldest country club west of the Mississippi) was added in 1906, allowing for grandiose homes with large, set back lots to be built. With the promise of golf and tennis and “the good life” the most influential in the city quickly settled in this area. Even today, The Denver Country Club offers its members and guests world class lawn bowling, croquet, figure skating, hockey, golf, tennis and swimming.

Refusing to be outdone by one another, many of the country's top architects were brought in to design large homes in a huge array of styles such as Georgian, French Chateau and English Tudor. This ecelecticism can still be seen today and is one of the cornerstones of Denver design history.

The prestige of Denver's Country Club neighborhood is still prevalent today as it is within close proximity to LODO dining, the chic Cherry Creek shopping district and numerous parks. There are still multimillion dollar homes boasting less than humble dimensions, but you can also find more humble bungalows in the 400-600k range.
